Ian was 15 and a passenger in his sisters car. Riding to school nearby they hit wet leaves and slid into a tree. Ian was belted but hit his head on the dash. This caused a catastrophic brain bleed and unrecoverable brain damage. His parents brought him home after no progress at an acute rehab. He was in a coma then minimally conscious for 4 yrs. Then he started following commands . He remains nonverbal and wheelchair bound. Has a gtube for hydration and meds.Ian is age 26 now.  He enjoys continuing his previous life as much as possible. He needs a foldable stroller to travel with his family in our camper. Tow vehicle doesn't accommodate his big WC. Ian wants to go places that don't require a WC vehicle because often he is waiting on the curb for one to eventually show up if at all. Going places outside of his home has been extremely difficult and rare. Mom and Dad are his caregivers and cannot leave Ian behind. We love him so much!
